Scout Web v1.16.3 - 1/29/26

Enhanced Alerting Across the Application

• Alerts are now available from anywhere in Scout, not just the Dispatch Map, so high-priority activity stays visible while users work in other areas.

• Added in-app alert popups when Scout is in focus, and browser push notifications when Scout is open but not in focus (subject to browser/OS notification settings).

• New Alert Notification settings let users choose which alert lists they want notifications for (including Enable All / Disable All)

• Clicking an alert notification routes users to the Dispatch Map with the relevant alert context for quicker follow-up.

• Improved alert notification details to include key context (e.g., site and alert list name) so users don’t have to click through just to identify the alert.

• Improved permission enforcement so users only receive alerts when they have access to both the alert list, and the camera that captured the plate.

• Alert list access changes now reflect in the notification configuration UI (e.g., lists become disabled/visually indicated when access is removed or the list is deleted).

• Microsoft Edge reliability improvements for push notifications.

NOTE: Alert push notifications are being rolled out via feature flag and may be enabled per company.

Audit Export Validation

• Audit Search and Audit Export now prevent selecting future date ranges.

• If an invalid time range is entered, Scout shows clear validation feedback identifying whether the start or end time is invalid.

• Audit Search no longer reloads after a validation error, preventing users from losing entered criteria.

Added hotfix to address an issue exporting large audit datasets.

Scout Web v1.16.1 - 12/10/2025

This hotfix release addresses a critical password update issue and also includes a fix for the dispatch map that caused it to become unresponsive.

Scout Web v1.16.0 - 11/26/2025

This release delivers multiple enhancements across audit exports, search justification fields, federated search usability, and security posture.

Audit Record Export Enhancements

• Added export capability that supports all audit event types in a single download.

• Added option to include all audit records regardless of user or email.

• Added filtering based on users or email addresses tied to one or more permission groups. At query time, email addresses are resolved from the selected groups and matched against both the email and user fields in the audit records.

• Added optional ability to export only selected event types when needed.

Enhanced Plate Search Justification Fields

• Retained the existing Justification field for documenting the reason or purpose of a plate search.

• Added a new dedicated Case Number field to correctly capture case numbers separate from justification text.

• Clarified earlier confusion caused by the placeholder showing a case number example in the original justification field.

• Added a justification field to the Blue API so Blue users can submit searches with justification included.

Federated Search Improvements

• The shared instance list is now alphabetically sorted for a cleaner and more predictable search experience.

Security and Pen Test Remediation

• Applied multiple fixes based on recent security testing to improve hardening and overall system resilience.

Scout Web v1.15.3 - 10/14/2025 (Patch)

• Fixed an issue that prevented PDF exports from being delivered when using the “Export to Email” option on the plate results and reports pages. Users previously saw “Reporting scheduled,” but no email was received. Exports now send successfully.

Scout Web v1.15.2 - 9/30/2025

• Added support for international numbers, specifically addressing UK and Australia requirements where in-region numbers are needed for SMS delivery.

• Enhanced audit logging for federated searches to correctly capture and log the user performing the cross-tenant search.

• Introduced improvements to strengthen overall account protection and user authentication, including updates to password requirements, login safeguards, and recovery processes.

• The vehicle search by image feature is currently unavailable while we work on upgrading our models to deliver more accurate results. This is a temporary change, and the feature will return improved in a future release.

• Comprehensive branding customization for Plate Ranger customers, including login page, system-generated emails, reports, and more.

Websocket Server Release Integration

• Integrates with the timing functionality added in Websocket Server release , adds timing for the "last leg" of media transfer, and provides a consolidated timing report of all legs to Rekor engineers for diagnostic purposes.

Outbound Webhook Flexibility

• Added an option to configure the scope of vehicle-only reads pushed to webhooks, to include either:

  • (a) Only reads where the plate was determined to be missing/removed.

  • (b) Both reads of the type above plus those where the plate was present but unrecognizable.

  Cloud tenants on police.openalpr.com and cloud.openalpr.com will default to (a) (existing behavior) but can be switched to (b), upon request.

Fixes & Improvements

• Fixed an issue preventing users from enabling or disabling multi-factor authentication (MFA).

• Revised alert list caching logic to prevent intermittent plate processing delays.

• Various UI and performance improvements across the application, with special attention to mobile browsing.

Scout Web v1.13.0 - 1/31/25

Enhancements

• Unified Look-and-Feel: Updated UI with consistent styling across Scout and new micro-UI components for a more cohesive user experience.

• Revamped Search Module: Introduced an improved search experience with better performance and usability (not currently available in production).
